Vooren Grantz is a Second Lieutenant who serves as a loyal member of 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion under the command of Tanya Degurechaff.
Appearance
Vooren is a young man with short medium blonde hair and emerald eyes. Like the others, he wears a military uniform as default and a battle suit when fighting.
Differences between various Mediums
The light novel
He first shows up as one of the supplementary mages from Officer Cadet School, and is trained by the 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion (Tanya is carrying out the training mission). After they finish the training, they are distributed to other mage battalions, yet Grantz stays in 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion. He also doesn't get shot down by the Commonwealth mage during Operation Revolving Door.
The anime
He is part of the V601, trained by Tanya in episode 5, and later becomes a member of 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion. During Attack Plan 177, he is shot down by Anson Sue and falls into the sea. Finally, he is rescued by his partner.
The manga
He first shows up as a recruit mage sent to the Rhine Front in chapter 29. He is the leader of 4th training platoon and received battle education from the instructor unit 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion. After the night raid mission, his magic potential catches Visha's eye. He joins 203rd Mage Battalion as the replacement of the wounded Kahteijanen.
Trivia
- He has a younger sister of unknown name
- Vooren could have died when the avalanche hit the battalion in physical training. However, Tanya saves him by kicking him, which made him cough out the snow that nearly killed him.
- In the manga, his real age is 18 years old. One year older than Visha. [3]
- He has a crush on Viktoriya
